It’s fairly rare that I cut ears this big, it really depends on the overall tissue structre of the lobe and how I can minimize any added upward pressure on the cartlidge. I will always use double flared eyelets with a 3.5mm – 4mm flare rise and a 11mm space distance between the flares so the tissue can nestle without pressure points and distribute evenly. This will also allow for any swelling that may try to envelope the new tissue during the healing process.

Obviously if there was a problem with our tests we would be notified immediately which fortunately has never happened because our autoclave ALWAYS passes.
